Thesis 1.8.4 is available and why you should get it now

Many websites running WordPress use the well-known Thesis Framework. Thesis is developed by Chris Pearson of DIY Themes. Thesis is sort of a WordPress Theme, but it is really a Framework that puts your WordPress website into overdrive. It allows for extensive SEO (Search Engine Optimization) configuration way beyond of what you can do with WordPress by itself.

I am using Thesis on WordPress websites for many years and really like it. It has been reliable, is easy to manage, and is easy to customize. Thesis has some of the best SEO options on the market – without the need to install other SEO WordPress plugins.

Thesis has great features to offer. One of the most often used features is the customizable multimedia box. Not only can you use it to show pictures or videos in a prominent spot on your website, you even execute custom code in the multimedia box. This works great for newsletter sign-up boxes as an example. A high success rate to get new email list subscribers comes from displaying the sign-up form in a highly visible spot and the multimedia box in Thesis is just the right tool to do so. In Thesis you can change the number of columns and the column layout on the fly. Even better – you can change column size for each column individually. The list goes on and on. Thesis does not require that you are a coder. While coding knowledge will help to get the most out of Thesis, you can take full advantage of all settings through the extensive dashboard and menus that are available within Thesis.

Thesis also comes with great support where you can ask questions and get immediate help. The support forums offer a great archive and almost any type of question has been asked before. Even better, almost all questions have been answered, too. And to get you started you can go through the extensive list of tutorials that are available. Visit the Thesis Tutorial website for more details on the list of available tutorials and How-tos here.

How do you take advantage of Thesis? How do you get the most out of it? My first recommendation is to setup a new blog or a test website and to start playing with it. Learning by doing is simple with Thesis and you will become very sufficient in using Thesis after a short time. I would also spend some time in the forums and browse through the different sections to see what issues users have been running into and how those issues were addressed.

The headline for this article mentions that a new version of Thesis is available and I would highly recommend to buy Thesis now (unless you own it already). The Thesis developer is working on version 2.0 for quite a while. While the development has been kind of secretive, when 2.0 is being released you might find yourself in a situation where the price has suddenly increased for this great product. Existing customers have been receiving updates free of charge after the initial purchase. It makes also sense to start now – upgrading to a newer version of Thesis has become easier and easier from version to version and I expect that the upgrade process to Thesis 2.0 will be seamless.

This website of mine (Webhostingresourcekit.com) is sporting Thesis on WordPress and once Thesis 2.0 has been released, I will be eager to upgrade to take advantage of all the new features. Visit the Thesis website here.
