Find a company name not trademarked or taken already
Every business needs a name to be identified. So, think about what name you would use for your business name. You could either select a descriptive name like “John Doe Web Hosting Inc.” or something more generic - “JD Inc.”. Do thorough research for the State you are located in. Look up the Internet and public registers to make sure the name is not already taken.
For us here in Colorado a good place for research would be the State Government. The appropriate website for looking into the public register can be found here:
Also do a search in the Yellow Pages. For Colorado you should direct your browser to:
Stay away from anything that could cause you legal trouble. So, do not go with a name like Miicroosoft.
