cPanel: IP Deny Manager

cPanel: IP Deny Manager

The IP Deny Manager allows you to block access to your web site from specific (hostile) IP addresses. This is a very useful feature to keep visitors who use an unusual large amount of bandwidth or to prevent hotlinking to your site.

To add an IP address to the IP Deny Manager:

  1. Click on the IP Deny Manager button in cPanel

  2. Enter the IP address that you want to block in the IP Address field.

  3. Click on the Add button.

Please note: You can also try to block a domain name and the IP Deny Manager will attempt to resolve the name to an IP and then block it.

Remove a blocked IP address when you no longer need to prevent access from that denied IP address.

To remove an IP from IP Deny Manager:

  1. Click on the IP Deny Manager button on the home page.

  2. Click on the required IP address from the Remove an IP Deny drop-down list.

  3. Click on the Remove button.
